Now They Are Being Brainwashed Again that President Obama is a "Tax and Spend" Democrat
-By Brian Conners
June 21, 2011- The typical GOP politician is terrified of the Tea party, so they are willing to spew a party line of hypocrisy. Tea Partiers are being duped not only by the GOP politicians, but also by Dick Armey, Sarah Palin, Grover Norquist and others of their ilk and there is a concerted effort by the GOP to control what its base thinks via Clear Radio Channel and FOX TV. It is hard to understand the contemporary GOP political philosophy. The GOP as well as the Tea Party want to drastically reduce the size of government. They want to do so to such an extent though that the very thing they want to control will all but disappear. What then will they have to control?
The GOP has discovered how to peddle misinformation. Tell them a lie now and another one later and before you know it they'll swallow anything you tell them such as Hussein being involved in 9/11. Remember the Al Gore versus Bush 43 presidential debates and "Fuzzy Math"? Gore said that "Bush spends more money for tax cuts for the wealthiest 1 percent than all of his new spending proposals for health care, prescription drugs, education and national defense all combined." Gore calculated that 43 percent of Bush's tax cuts, worth $560-billion, would go to the wealthiest 1 percent of American households. The right-wing extremist fringe has for generations been exposed to this reality. The GOP doesn't care much about anything other than giving their cronies tax breaks. Why would anyone other than those receiving the tax cuts have any motivation to vote for the GOP? Is it that there are willing dupes that swallow the GOP propaganda, or do they realize what the score is and want to see their life deteriorate?
The article "The $2.5 Trillion Tragedy: What America Has Given Up For 10 Years Of Bush Tax Cuts" lists what we gave to the richest at the expense of the poorest.
Think about it! We gave away everything to those who don't need it to shaft the poor, weak, ill and elderly.
Words are nice, but where's the beef? GOP politicians have for generations attacked the US social safety net. Since the Ryan budget ends Medicaid ( block grants to states for it effectively ends it ) and destroys Medicare ( converting it into a voucher system destroys it ) Ryan and the GOP are providing nothing for those who desperately need medical assistance. Red staters, can't you see that Ryan saying he's helping Medicare is just a lie? What are you going do with granny when Medicaid doesn't care for her nursing home? You either let her die or pay someone to mind her and give her the pills and medical care she requires.
The article states "Today marks the 10th anniversary of former President George W. Bush signing into law his 2001 tax cuts (he passed a second round in 2003). While doing so, Bush promised prosperity and growth, but the nation got neither.
The cost of these budget-busting 2001 and 2003 tax cuts was, as estimated by Citizens for Tax Justice, roughly $2.5 trillion through 2010. But America didn't have to go down this route of cutting taxes and hoping for growth to miraculously appear."
Instead of giving their contributors tax cuts Bush 43 could have helped our despairing bottom 99%, put more money into our economy and provided. Bush 43 preferred using the failed "trickle down" approach which has been proven to produce nothing other than depression and hopelessness.
The article states "The tradeoffs paint a stark picture. For the same price as the Bush tax cuts, which did little to help the economy, we could've sent tens of millions of students to college, retrofitted every household in America with the capacity to generate alternative energy, hired millions of firefighters and police officers, effectively ended our national shame of having kids who lack health care coverage, or put millions of more teachers into classrooms. But instead, Congress passed budget-breaking tax cuts, and then went on to pass even more in 2003."
Because the proles are so willing to believe GOP propaganda President Obama didn't think he could alter the course as the article states " In 2010, Congress then went on to renew the Bush tax cuts for an additional two years, and the political will for the sort of public investments listed above appears to have dried up."
Somehow or other the GOP got red staters to forget that the worldwide economy was on the verge of collapse in the beginning of President Obama's term and that the policies he was forced to use were implemented to save us from going into a depression'"due to Bush 43. In addition to that the GOP got the proles to hate tax cuts for the rich, even though it was obvious that those tactics'"that Bush 43 used, didn't improve the economy or produce jobs.
The GOP is currently brainwashing the proles into ignoring the easily researched mathematical fact that taxes are lower now than even during "Teflon Ronnie's" term.
